Grom started his life like any other half breed in Orc society, He was bullied beaten threatened and forced to do the work no one else would want to do. On his 14th Birthday Grom volunteered to take the test of manhood with which if he passed would end his suffering and put him as an equal with the rest of the tribe. He would have the respect and prestige of a full Orc warrior. During his trials he was to go out into the wilds with a spear and nothing else his task was to bring the pelt of the beast he fought to prove his bravery and strength, The first beast he came into contact with was a Brown Bear, a creature of the tribes totem, they fought for some time until both where exhausted collapsing both from injuries and shear exhaustion. That is when the connection was made when both became friends and would work together in all things. The bear named its self to him Brodak and he named himself to the bear Grom. Grom climbed upon the back of Brodak and rode him back to camp where he promptly began defending his friend from the tribes men and earning his place as a bear rider, The rarest of warier s among his people.
