2. No Advertising
This forum is for Casual Gamers, Inc. related topics only. Do not advertise such things as: graphics design; website design; coding; etc. here. This forum is not your personal place to advertise yours, nor anyone else's, work.
3. No Profanity
We do not allow profanity to be used in this forum. Word censorship is employed by this forum, and profanity words will be censored. If we miss a word, it will be added to the list as soon as someone is able to do so. Remember, we most likely have younger people on this forum as well, so please be considerate with your language in your posts and PM's.
4. No Personal Attacks, Defamation, Slander, or Flaming
We consider these to be serious offenses and doing any one of them could get you banned - even if it is your first offense. If any of these occur (including harassment) in a PM, notify the Admin or Moderator at once via PM (Private Message). Copy and paste the message into your PM to the Admin or Moderator so we can investigate it. You may also forward an offending PM to the Admin. To forward a PM, be sure you are looking at the contents of the PM and click the Actions dropdown. In there, you should see a Forward option. Click that and type in either admin or MSG into a recipient box, then click on MSG (@admin) to add me. Type in why you are forwarding the PM and Send.
5. No Illegal Content
If it is illegal, we do not want it here, via post nor link. This includes such things as pirated software. Posting / Linking ANY illegal content will get you reported to Law Enforcement. Posting / Linking illegal content will also get you a permanent ban from these forums.
6. No Religious or Political Discussion
This forum is not about religion nor is it about politics. Please do not post any such content here. Your thread / post will be removed.
7. Spamming / Bumping / Hijacking Rules
Do not spam your posts. If you are making an inquiry, allow some time for a response. Spam posts will be removed and the User warned. "Bumping" threads is only allowed ONCE in a 24-hour period. Doing so more often then that will get you a warning and your bump post will be removed. Hijacking threads is not permitted here.
8. No Discussion of Disciplinary Action
If you, or anyone else, has received disciplinary action, this is not to be discussed on the forum. Any and all disciplinary actions issued on this forum is between the Admin and the Moderator (if involved) and User involved. These are not topics open for discussion and may result in the offender receiving disciplinary action as well.
9. English please
While we welcome Members from all over the world, please make your posts in English. This is the standard language for this forum and posts made in other languages will be removed. This is due to the fact that the Admin and Moderators use English and we cannot properly moderate the forum for posts in other languages. If you do post in your native language, please note that your post will be removed. Please do not take this personally. You are more than welcome to re-make your post in English.
10. Before you post
Please use the forum's Search function. What you might be ready to ask may already be answered. If your answer is not already in the forum, be sure you are posting in the proper board. This will help us know what your inquiry is in regards to (Support Question, Bug Report, etc.). In the event of a Bug, please be as descriptive as possible in order to help us re-create the bug - list the steps you took to get the bug.
11. Links in Posts
Links in posts should be limited to links to images that you are using to give a visual of your issue - such as when you are posting a bug report, to give a visual of the bug / error you received. Please do not post links to other websites. Links to other posts in this forum is allowed. Images need to already be in an online storage to link. This forum is set that file attachments are not allowed except by the Admin - unless purchased from the Forum Store.
12. Support and Contact
Please use the Support Questions and Bug Reports boards to ask your question or to report a bug. This will be the first place the Admin will look. If we need to move this into private messages, we will first use the PM system here. We will not use email unless the other two methods are not working.
13. Images, Signatures and Avatars
Images and avatars cannot be of a pornographic nor tasteless nature. The Admin will remove inappropriate images and avatars. Your signature cannot contain links to other websites / forums, unless you are a Registered Member here and the link is to your own website / forum. Your signature cannot be of a tasteless nature. Inappropriate signatures will be removed / modified by the Admin. You will also receive a PM for any inappropriate image, signature and / or avatar.
14. No Pornography
We do not tolerate the posting / linking of pornography or adult (18+) material at all. These will be removed promptly and you will get a warning. Continued posting / linking of pornography will result in disciplinary action, up to, and including, a permanent ban from this forum.
15. Cross-posting
Please do not create multiple threads of the same issue. Cross-posts will be removed and only one will remain. You will be warned for cross-posting. Cross-posting also creates excessive and unnecessary threads that we have to look through and can actually take us longer to get a response to you. Do yourself and us a favor - only make one thread per issue. The ONLY exception to this is if your issue is in a thread that has been locked. In this case, you may start a new thread.
16. Display Names
Your Display Name is the name everyone sees on the forum. As much of this forum is public, please keep this in mind when deciding on a Display Name. Inappropriate names will be edited by the Admin or Moderators and you will receive a warning.
17. Profile Content
You are free to add, or not add, information into your profile. However, you are not allowed to place false information, or the information of others, in your profile. If you do not want certain information in your profile, just do not add it. Profiles are occasionally checked to insure they are not in violation.
18. No Moderating
Unless you are the Admin or a Moderator, please do not moderate these forums - unless you are a Judge / GM and are moderating your own board(s). That is why we have Moderators. If you see a post in violation, report the post (see #19 below) - do not reply telling the offender that they broke a forum rule. Leave the moderating to our Moderators.
19. Report - Do Not Reply
As stated above, if you see a post in violation of our Guidelines, use the Report Post function. Every post should have a gear icon in the upper right corner of the post. Click this icon and you should see Report Post. Be sure you are clicking this on the post to be reported. Be aware that each post should have this and the post you click this on will be the post that gets reported.
20. Creating Polls
Users may create polls wherever they are allowed to do so. However, when creating a poll, you MUST set a poll closing date and time. Never ending polls are not permitted. Failure to set a closing date and time will result in either: (1) The Admin will set a date and time; or (2) Your poll will be removed. Excessive abuse of this will result in getting poll creation privileges revoked for the User abusing this.
21. No Thread / Post Deleting
While all Members have the ability to delete their own posts, we ask that you do not do so here on Casual Gamers. The reasoning for this is simple: If you accidentally delete a post that you did not want to delete, we have absolutely no way to recover it. ProBoards does not offer a means to restore user-deleted content at this time. Therefore, what we request you do is to get the link to the post you want removed and PM it to me. I will then move the post to a hidden Recycle Bin board. This way, if you need the post back, I can get it for you. There will be a 25% Warning Level increase to anyone who deletes a thread and / or post - this includes Admins, Moderators and any other Staff as well. NOTE: While we do have a plugin to assist with this, nothing is guaranteed for it to work. The plugin allows for 15 minutes to Edit / Delete (ProBoards rule is minimum of 5 minutes, but we allow 15 - mostly for the editing aspect, as posts still should never be deleted) in case you made an error and need to edit your post.
22. Timely Responses to Posts / PM's
EVERYONE is responsible for making timely responses to posts that require your attention (Briefing, Debriefing and Downtime boards are exempt from this). EVERYONE is also responsible for making timely responses to PM's. If you have a Private Message (PM) waiting, please answer it - do not just read it and "answer it later". Timely responses are the main key to communication here, and no one is exempt - including me. Without timely responses, we end up with a sever lack of communication and possibly misunderstandings. Please do not "wait until later" to post a reply in a thread where you have been tagged, and especially do not "wait until later" to reply to a PM. Communication is essential to make sure everyone is "on the same page". At this time, I have no intentions of giving out warnings to those who don't comply. However, should this become a problem, I may reconsider giving out warnings. When you stop and think that this forum is our main source of communication with everyone, it becomes obvious on how important timely responses become.
IMPORTANT: You must also be sure you follow ProBoards Terms of Service and also their Community Guidelines at all times. Failure to do so will get you permanently banned from this forum. Violating those could get us shut down, and we don't want that.
Remember, these Guidelines are not set in stone and can change at any time, with or without notice. Please be sure you keep yourself updated with our current Guidelines by checking this thread occasionally. While we have Moderators, the Admin is the highest authority on this forum, and any decision made by them is final.
Should a User violate our Guidelines and show disregard for them, our administration team, and our community, they run the risk of being permanently banned from this forum. We reserve the right to deactivate any account and to edit or remove any content without warning.
Thank you for being a part of the Casual Gamers, Inc. Forum and Community.
